EDE497 Black Girls and Women in Education
The experiences of Black girls and women in the U.S. educational system are unique. When revisiting the purpose of U.S. education and its history, Black girls and women have been pioneers for minoritized communities to participate in the educational system. However, there is limited research or exploration on the transitional experiences Black girls have to post-secondary education. For this course, we will explore the intersectional experiences of Black girls and women in educational spaces and the history of their journeys to define institutional needs that can support Black girls' transition to post-secondary opportunities.
